Excursion Number Four (from Torquay)

In the Footsteps of Agatha Christie.

Torquay's statue of Agtha Christie is by local artist Elisabeth Hadley - it depicts the author, who was born in Torquay in 1890, and her favourite dog, Peter.

After touring Agatha Christie related sights in Torquay, the excursion coach takes us to  the the author's house: Greenway.

Excursion Number Five (from Portsmouth)

Overview of Portsmouth including Porstdown Hill

(left): docked in Portsmouth is Brittany Ferries'  MV Guillaume de Normandie. We can easily locate the balcony of the cabin in which we travelled back from France earlier in the year.
Fort Southwick is one of the forts found on Portsdown Hill, which overlooks the naval base of Portsmouth. During the Second World War a network of tunnels was excavated  to serve as the underground headquarters for Operation Overlord.
